SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY
It all started when…
Southern University and A&M College, located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana is the largest historically black college or university in Louisiana. The University is home to about 7,500 students. Since the University's origination in 1880, there has been very little ministry activity. On top of that, there has never been a Chi Alpha present on campus. We are excited to share that we will be pioneering Chi Alpha in August 2023 on Southern's campus, believing that Jesus is going to transform the University. We highly value personal discipleship through our small group weekly meetings, and living in real community through large group worship services and hangouts. At Southern Chi Alpha, our goal is to create life-long followers, develop future leaders, and create a space for meaningful friendships.
Campus Directors
JAMES AND KELSEY PRICE
James graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2018, while Kelsey graduated from Texas Women's University in 2017. Both were active members of Chi Alpha. James and Kelsey met in Lafayette while Kelsey was completing her year in training with the Chi Alpha Internship. Kelsey decided to head to the University of New Orleans after her year in training with Chi Alpha. At the same time, James was gearing up to start his year in training with Chi Alpha. James decided after his training to also travel to New Orleans to be on staff with Chi Alpha at the University of New Orleans. James and Kelsey are excited for this next step of getting ready to pioneer Chi Alpha on campus at Southern University.
